What’s in it for me?

When you imagine yourself 20 years in the future, what do you see? Where will you live? What car will you drive? What will you do in your spare time? No matter where you want to go or what you want to do, one thing is true: education after high school will benefit you in many ways.

  • More job security. People with specialized training after high school are two to three times more likely to have a job.
  • More pay. Someone with a college degree earns $7,500 to $16,700 more each year than someone with only a high school diploma. The higher your education level, the more you earn.
  • More meaningful work. Learning a skill or trade helps you identify your strengths and plugs you into a career you enjoy.

Whether you decide to attend a 4-year university, a 2-year college or a technical or trade school, education after high school gives you more opportunities for a brighter future.
